What is ADULT EDUCATION?

As an adult education tutor I work with adults who choose to study part time. As a tutor I facilitate groups which allow us to look at a wide range of subjects and skills.  I am often employed by several agencies at once; some of the subjects that I cover are life skills, parenting skills, health and wellbeing, IT skills, language.

As a tutor I design appropriate courses for the learner group, taking into account any learning differences that the learners might have, adapting the learning methods as appropriate. All work can be evaluated through quantitative and qualitative means. This information can be used to develop practice.

A good knowledge of local learning opportunities allows me to enable learners to move forward with their studies, encouraging lifelong learning. To develop my own practice I keep up to date by private study, research and training.
